The Former World was born as a performance, a way to unite text, sound, and video. The initial 2017 performance (shown below, TIME) became the impetus to collect a myriad of differing textual and sonic sources, leading to a deeper conception of what the work could become.

Performance materials include: a violin duo, acoustic guitar, four performers singing and speaking text, field-recorded conversations passed around on boomboxes, and sub-sonic stereo bass.
